Baked brie with strawberries and balsamic

Preparation time: 15 minutes

Cooking time: 30 minutes

Yield: 8 servings

 

Ingredients:

  • 125 ml (1/2 cup) maple syrup
  • 125 ml (1/2 cup) balsamic vinegar
  • 8 frozen Quebec strawberries, halved, from Bleu & Bon
  • 125 ml (1/2 cup) pecan pieces
  • 1 (350g) double cream brie
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp) small fresh basil leaves

 

Instructions: 

  1. Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F).
  2. In a saucepan, bring the maple syrup and balsamic vinegar to a boil over medium heat. Simmer for 10 minutes over low heat until a syrupy mixture is obtained. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, mix the strawberries with the pecans.
  4. Place the brie in a brie baker or a small baking dish. Bake for 15 minutes.
  5. Spread the strawberry and pecan mixture over the cheese. Drizzle with the maple syrup mixture. Continue baking for 5 minutes.
  6. When removed from the oven, sprinkle the brie with basil leaves.
